1. What exactly is a "Blind Date with a Book"?
It’s a mystery book experience! We select high-quality titles, wrap them in aesthetic kraft paper, and provide "Trope Labels" (keywords) on the front to give you a hint of the story inside. You won’t know the title or the author until you unwrap it!
2. What condition are the books in?
We believe in sustainable reading. Most of our books are "Like New" or "Gently Loved" copies sourced from curated collections and boutique overstock. We personally inspect every book to ensure there are no broken spines, heavy markings, or torn pages. Some books may have "ex-library" stamps, as they are undeniably of the "rescued" variety.
3. Can I choose my genre?
Yes! You can select your preferred genre (Romance, Thriller, Fantasy, and more) at checkout. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, choose our "Surprise Me" option for a completely random curation.
4. What if I already own the book I receive?
That's the one risk of a blind date! To minimize this, we try to source unique editions or slightly lesser-known gems. While we cannot offer returns or exchanges for books you already own, these make excellent gifts for the fellow readers in your life!
Pro-Tip: If you have a Goodreads or The StoryGraph link, feel free to leave it in the "Notes" section at checkout, and we will do our best to cross-reference it!
5. What is a "Lucky Scoop"?
It’s a bit of bookish magic! If your bundle includes a scoop, Amy will use a specialized scoop to gather a random assortment of reading accessories from our "Treasure Bin". Think bookmarks, page clips, bookish stickers, and charms.
6. Shipping & Processing Times
We are a small, hand-curated boutique! Please allow 3–5 business days for Amy to wrap and pack your order with care.
- Within Canada: Tracked shipping typically takes 3–7 business days depending on your province.
- Note: Every order includes a simple "Skill-Testing Question" on the packing slip to comply with Canadian promotional contest regulations.
7. Returns & Refunds
Due to the mystery nature of our products, all sales are final. However, if your items arrive damaged (e.g., a broken candle), please email us at comfortingcurations@gmail.com within 48 hours with a photo, and we will make it right!
